Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak
In 1976 Steve Jobs was convinced to start a company to build computers for everyone. He convinced Steve Wozniak to join him in his journey and later that year they had their first computer. In 1984 they started with the Macintosh OS line.

System 1- First official OS as Apple. GUI-based. Released 1984.
System 3- Hierarchical File System. Tree- Directory. Released 1986
System 7- First OS to require hard drive. Drag-and-Drop files. Virtual Memory. Released 1991
Mac OS 7.6- Released 1997
Mac OS 8- updated visual interface named Platinum. Released 1997
Mac OS 9- Internet support enhancements. Transition OS from Mac OS 8 and Mac OS X. Released 1999
Mac OS X- Interface redone. Added the Dock, left corner applications, and a new menu. Code-named "Cheetah". Released 2000.
Mac OS X Jaguar- Faster and more Stable. Updated Email Interface. Released 2002
Mac OS X Tiger- 2 million copies sold within the first 6 weeks. More processors compatible. Released 2005.
Mac OS X Leopard- Redesigned Dock with Transparency. Cover-Flow browsing. Released 2007
Mac OS X Lion- Autosave added. starting to merge with iOS for the iPhone. Released 2011
Mac OS X Mountain Lion- iChat, iMessage and iCloud. Enhanced Media Sharing. Released 2012
